Funny Lion In An Easy Chair

In this funny lion image the lion kicks back in an easy chair, beer in hand. The image was created by Stephanie D. Roeser as a humorous greeting card and is also available for licensing as a stock photo. The lion also holds a TV remote as he relaxes in his den, feet up on the foot of the recliner. A lion makes a perfect model for a Father's Day greeting image as it symbolizes the traditional "head of household" aspect of fathers. To get this image we rented a lion for a studio shoot. Needless to say, lions are expensive to photograph so we need to sell one heck of a lot of greeting cards to pay off that expense! But part of the fun of making these images is getting to be up close and personal with a lot of our subject animals. How many people get to hang out in a photo studio with a lion?

The Lion

The lion in this image is named "Safari". He is owned by Bow Wow Productions. Safari has a beautiful mane...and it is interesting to note that if a male lion is neutered he will lose that mane. We got to photograph Safari for about 45 minutes before the handlers felt that it was time to end the shoot. During that time we did get a good number of images for our archive of lion raw materials. That has enabled us to create a number of lion images and allows us to continue creating more lion photos in the future. In fact, if you need a lion image we might well be able to produce exactly what you need without the expense and challenges of a lion shoot since we can pull images from our archive to work with.
