A Frankincense forest covers a high plain in the Homhil protected area of Socotra Island. To get this view Jeremy Woodhouse and I climbed up a high ridge dotted with Dragon Blood trees growing out of the volcanic rock. Below us we could see the shepards bringing their sheep in for the evening, and the rest of our group hunting out their spots for capturing the sunset.
