Capturing Super Slow Motion Video of Pulling The Plug

This "plug pulling" was captured at 1900 frames per second using a Phantom HD Camera and GVS 9000 VTR hardware and software. The GVS solution made the process a pleasure. We were able to review our captured footage within seconds, and convert the files to Pro Res 422 on the fly. When shooting stock video clips basically on speculation, it is really important to be efficient; GVS made a huge contribution in that direction.

Pull the plug is a familiar phrase, but how can we show pulling the plug in an effective and dynamic way when we want to utilize that iconic phrase in a motion or video presentation? Well, now that is not a problem. We captured a plug being pulled from a wall socket, complete with sparks, at 1900 frames per second in an HD video. We used a Phantom HD video camera utilizing GVS 9000 software and hardware that enabled us to view our captures virtually instantly and that converted our file to the Pro Res format on the fly.
