This is a great image for illustrating articles, advertisements and promotions of a comparative nature, especially comparing a Golden Retriever to various other dog breeds.

Creating A Golden Retriever Stock Photo That Stands Out From The Crowd

Wanting to create a stock photo of a Golden Retriever that stands out from the crowd, I went through my picture archives and pulled a wide variety of dog portraits. I then created a mosaic from the canine images as a background for my primary photo of a Golden Retriever. I then used Photoshop to strip out the image of the hero dog and pasted it over the background breeds. Anyone wanting to create real competition for this stock picture will need to have a lot of existing dog portraits, good Photoshop skills, and plenty of time. It took me a day to do the Photoshop work alone!

Simple and Formal Dog Stock Photo Portraits

The portraits of dogs I used in this composite breed picture, simple and formal images, were all shot in my studio. By photographing the dogs in a studio setting with a plain background I was able to assemble a composite portrait that is much cleaner and visually appealing than if I had used dogs with complex backgrounds to build the mosaic.
