This photo is one of a series I photographed when I happened by chance onto a rather extensive re-enactment of a Genghis Khan battle performed (and very realistically so) in honor of his birthday.

Mongolian Re-enactment of Genghis Khan Battle

There were hundreds of horsemen galloping about and engaging in mock battles with bows, arrows, swords and lances. The riding skills were quite impressive and the battle rather convincing!

Ulan Bator, Mongolia

The activities took place just outside of Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia.The warriors were mounted on the famed and hardy Mongolian Mustangs.
