Shooting at 1000 frames per second requires light, and a lot of it. We had four 2000 watt tungsten lights mounted in a custom built light box and still had to shoot with the lens wide open! The GVS 9000 set up made capture and recording a cinch. We could view the captured clips within seconds and then lay it down with the color correction and file conversion happening on the fly. It couldn't have been any more simple. In fact, using the GVS set up was easier than shooting with my prosumer level video camera.
