Capturing A Pop Top Opening In Slow Motion Video Stock Footage

It is surprising how little happens when you open a soda can by pulling the pop top. Unless you have livened things up a bit by shaking the can there will only be the slightest trace of vapor. That is what happened with the first can we opened. After that, I shook the next can up vigorously, but again was disappointed in the lackluster enthusiasm of the soda within. The third can I shook violently and pounded several times on the counter. Now we were getting somewhere! There was indeed a satisfying burst of bubbles and splash as the contents shot out of the opening. The fourth can I shook violently, pounded it on the counter, then squatted down and pounded it on the cement floor of the studio. Mistake. The can sprang a leak. Thinking i could still position the can and pull the top for the camera, I leapt to my feet. The leaking soda had made the floor slick, my feet skidded out from under me as I vigorously pushed off towards the camera. The force took me horizontal to the floor, and I was still horizontal as i landed with a sickening thud and lay there stunned as the soda can proceeded to empty its contents on me. It was three days before I could walk comfortably again!

Uses for a slow motion video of a pop top being pulled open from a carbonated beverage can

Any advertisement or promotion for a carbonated beverage sold in a can will benefit from a second or two of this dynamic clip. The spray of fizz from the opening of a can is a metaphor for beginnings, a fresh start, and for the coming refreshment of the beverage within. We associate that spray with cold and delicious. This can was carefully positioned to be generic not showing anything that would associate it with a particular brand.
