It was almost a spiritual experience for me to be able to spend hours alone photographing this ancient structure of China. I chose the Simatai section of the Wall because it was well away from Beijing and the throngs of tourists and hucksters peddling tourist guides and trinkets. It was winter in China and surprisingly cold and windy when I captured this travel and adventure stock photo for potential use as a fine art print (through Imagekind.com). We actually started our climb at 4:00am and after several hours of step after step we were rewarded as more and more of the incredible structure came into view and the suns rays skimming over the horizon etched the details into clarity.
