The concept of speed was the idea behind creating this image of a greyhound, in mid-stride, running on a black background. To create this "speed" stock photo I went to my archives and found an image I shot in the studio of a greyhound standing in profile. I used Photoshop to change the dogs leg and body position to look like it was running. Much easier than going out and shooting a greyhound in full sprint!
I stripped the greyhound out and put it on a black background and added just a hint of a reflection of the greyhound to "ground" the image. The result is an image that clearly illustrates the idea of speed. The black background adds drama and impact and at the same adds unlimited cropping possibilities and endless room for copy and headlines.
