Creating A Cat Banner Ad

It occurred to me that it might be very helpful for advertisers, charities and organizations that are centered around cats and cat care might be in need of an appropriate cat image specifically created for banner ads on the Internet…those long narrow images usually found at the top of an website page.

With that in mind I searched through my archives and brought up a number of images of sitting cats. Over the years I have photographed numerous cats (and dogs and other animals) for my “Animal Antics” series of anthropomorphic humorous animal images. I ended up choosing 13 cat photos that I composited together with Photoshop.

A great thing about creating this image from archived files is that there are no hard expenses to outlay. In these days of incredibly paltry stock photo fees it is hardly worth creating a stock image that involves the outlay of cash. As a matter of fact, the last several hundred stock images I have made have all been created by using existing archived files (after forty years of shooting professionally I have a LOT of archived images).

Putting them on a white background makes for a very contemporary look and really focuses the viewer’s attention on the cats. The white background also facilitates cropping options as well.  Can you imagine trying to get this in an actual photograph? Talk about herding cats!
